[Talking Point] First Home Owner Grant to double for regional Victoria
The Andrews government is surely firing up the tempo to get prospective first home buyers through the door to their first set of keys. In a series of rapid fire media releases over the past couple of weeks, we seen news coverage of First Home Owner Grant doubling, abolishment of stamp duty for First Home Buyers and a prospect that your first property may be co-owned with the Victorian Government.
In our opinion, the winners might very well be prospective first home buyers located in those regional areas with the intention of wanting to purchase their first property. Would you relocate to any of these areas just to pick up the extra $10,000 in grant, probably not. If we were to pick on where to take up the offer, we would go for Greater Geelong City Council boundaries and the Borough of Queenscliffe.
We are preparing a series of summary takeaways in the next few days so stay tuned. Here’s the takeaway for the Regional Victoria win!
